The Science Behind Reach & Wash

Reach & Wash has completely revolutionised the cleaning industry. While traditional methods have there place, the Reach & Wash Pure Water system is faster, safer and cleans better. You may wonder how washing the windows with simply water is better than the good old fashion soap and squeegee. This article will help you understand the science behind the pure water system.

The reason the Reach & Wash system has such good cleaning results is because of the pure water that is used. The water used is not normal tap water. It has been filtered and purified to remove any of the impurities in the water. Purity of water is measured by working out the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) in unit of water. "Dissolved solids" refer to any minerals, salts, metals or other substances dissolved in water. Normal Tap water has a high concentration of these substances. Using tap water to clean your windows would cause hard water spots to appear on your window once the water dried/evaporated leaving the dissolved solids behind.

To get the water pure is is filtered by either a two-stage or three-stage filtration process. The water goes through a carbon filter, a reverse osmosis membrane filter, and a de-ionization resin filter. The de-ionized water is lacking in ions, so it will pull solids off the glass and dissolve the solids into the water, aiding in the cleaning process. Because there are no solids dissolved in the water, once the windows have been rinsed with the pure water they dry clear without water spots. Now the window is completely sterile there is no soap residue for dirt to cling to and as a result the window to stay cleaner for longer.
